CITYSTRUCK by Dan Rodil

Complex contagious and metal towers
streets and cables the city bowels
broken cars under falling bridges
deadzones and wastelands at the fringes.
Houses not homes at every corner
as the daddy kills his child
the plumbing assasinates the plumber.
Trees that yell to be killed from their missery
even the sky here thunders bitterly.
Choppers over squares kill the insane and the poor
while someone watches it on the telly feeling dull.
Uncanny cats and dying dogs will one day kill the noble
and even then dandys wont learn to be humble.
Cafes and bars at a decaying state
dust and rubble their common fate.
Gods attack us tenderly
anymore would destroy definetly
And between all this Century's rubble
with the sky in my mind, a rumble,
I see and feel compulsive behaviours,
those of a stalker and a madman,
and being mindstruck by a sandman,
I do follow and stalk without perversion,
the perversion comes when hours past,
I do look at my simple actions horrorstruck
And come to a cafe and then fast
write it all out and then at last
feel this metal land backing away
a peaceful night crawls inside my head,
then I can to my soul do say
"Oh Gods, that girl is nice"
without feeling zombified
nor citystruck
my worldly love then amplified.
